You Style The Day – Kristen’s Pop of Pink

Kristen (Blogger at kcattaraugus.blogspot.com and thisuglybeautiful.blogspot.com ) is showing us how a pop of pink mixed with a neutral can make a statement … in more ways than one. Thanks for sharing your look with us Kristen!
Kristen Says: I have been really inspired by your blog to look at my closet differently. Mixing classic pieces with patterns and sparkly, blingy things. Today’s look is inspired by Style the Day, although a little Fashion Playtes style with top coming from one post-nudes, and the bottom-brights and color block.

I usually think about what I am going to wear in the shower every morning. Most of what I wear is a silent expression of what I am thinking at the moment or who I am. I wore this nude top as a commentary about that poor girl who got suspended this week from school because she wore leggings the same color as her skin. I was thinking while washing my hair how stupid that was. Hence the top.

The bottom and shoes were about mixing hues that don’t seem like they go together, like hots and cools, and I was inspired by the color blocking posts. I would usually pair this top with my standby black or a pair of jeans. Thank you for giving me a new perspective.

You Style The Day – Trish’s Cream Colored Mix

I love the layering of patterns in this outfit, not to mention the neutral color palette. Trish shows us that we can still be flashy and fun without having to wear bright colors! Thanks for sharing!

You Style The Day – Bubble Gum Babe

Move along little black dress … step aside khakis … this post is reserved for COLOR ONLY!  I gotta admit, I am a little color crazy lately and apparently Trish is too! This is neon-tastic. I LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing!

Trish, pretty in pink

Trish Says: This outfit is just so FUN . . . I love the bright pink skirt with the pastel colours of the tee. The belt? It was a ribbon wrapped around a gift from my husband. It was too pretty to throw away, so now it’s a belt!!

You Style The Day – Jennipher: Pretty in Purple

When the “long in the back, short in the front” dresses first started making an appearance on the streets I wasn’t sure I liked them, until this one…

Today, Jennipher ( with a “PH” ) is showing off a piece that is so sheer, light and loose-fitting, perfect for those hot summer days (which we’ve all been experiencing in excess lately)! This piece could be used so many different ways. Here it’s show with a similar colored longer tank underneath, but I would also love to see it as a sheer bathing suit cover up! I love the combination of Jennipher’s red hair and the purple of the dress. The gold sparkly belt ties the entire look together and the shoes give it a little extra umph! Beautiful!

You Style The Day – Trish’s Sparkle & Shine

What’s even better than a cold drink on a hot day? How about a cute outfit (with matching straw) to lounge about in!

If there’s one thing my mom loves it’s sparkle, and today she is sharing a look that I just LOVE! Color and sparkles all rolled into one … along with a pina colada accessory, YUM! What a fun way to dress up a pair of shorts. Thanks for sharing!

You Style The Day – Carrie’s Silver Accessories

Today, Carrie from Canada (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to be exact. Say that five times in a row, I dare ya!) is show casing beautiful bracelets and necklaces that she’s hand crafted. Love the initials in the necklace and those bobbles on the bracelet are fantastic. I think I speak for all of us when I say “Where can I pick myself up one of these?!”  Great designs! Thanks for sharing Carrie!

Carrie Says: I’ve been making jewelry for years, but this year I finally found someone to teach me how to solder silver! It’s pretty easy & brings a new dimension to what I can make (in past I used silver wire & just twisted – also fun, but I need to keep learning).

I love working with silver & gemstones & I like the imperfect look (imperfect just like me). It looks handmade & I think it has a little personality (aka mistakes…).

In any case, I love doing it & the results are fun too!

You Style The Day – Elaine’s Jewels

Today, Elaine from New Hampshire is sharing some of her fun jewels. She even made the earrings below (which doesn’t surprise me because I know she’s an artist!) Love these fun accents. Thanks for sharing Elaine!

Elaine Says:“Black is always a great accent to dress down or dress up an outfit. The earrings were made from black coral found at the Grand Cayman Islands.”

You Style The Day-The Many Looks of Goff

Time for our next “You Style The Day“:
Sara Goff Roiko, lead singer of LA indie band The Elizabeth Kill, has got some truly rock ‘n’ roll style. When she takes the stage, she commands attention, not only with her voice, but also with her look. I love the combination of her gold tights and chic white blazer, accessories fit for a rock star and her steampunk vibe. Everyone’s got that inner rocker. Be sure to bring that persona out from time to time and rock your style like Sarah does. Thanks for sharing your look Sarah!

“Happiness is a Warm Gun”

Sarah Says: “I’m a tom boy, always have been. Caring about what I was wearing only came about when I started wanting to get people’s attention on stage.  Suddenly my old jeans weren’t the only item I was into showcasing; gold, spandex and silver scream louder than my denim sometimes. My spandex makes it a lot easier to stretch and move on stage.

Amber has always been encouraging, not only by cheering me on through the years off stage, but now as our photographer for The Elizabeth Kill. She encourages me to continue to take chances in visual ways.  I love her eye for fashion and it inspires me to bring more of me to the table! Thanx girl!

My gun ring is my most favorite accessory right now, this is a piece of my onstage persona that I can bring with me anywere…welcome to the gun show.”

You might be asking yourself: “Self? How can I incorporate these rocker looks into my own wardrobe?”  There are tons of great ideas Sarah is using here. We all can’t wear gold spandex to the office but we could certainly all use a kick-ass white blazer like hers, or some unique accessories. Don’t afraid to be different! Stand out in the crowd! You’ll have much more fun that way.
